Every Sunday morning dozens and dozens of us silently line up during worship to light a candle that represents a care, a promise, a hope or a prayer we are holding in our hearts. Religious community is a place where we mark the most important matters of our lives. Sometimes those matters benefit from the support and caring attention of others. Our ordained minister, Marta Flanagan, our lay ministers and our wider network of care are available to provide such care.
First Parish also honors major life events in rites of passage. We witness the birth and arrival of children in a ceremony we call a child dedication. We witness to the power of a life ended in memorial services. We witness to the promises we make to another in marriage ceremonies.
