Social Justice Committee

raffle booth at Arlington Town Day

At First Parish we make a difference in the world in many ways. We give blood and donate food. We walk for affordable housing. We support the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry. We support advocacy and education for prisoners. We educate ourselves about climate change, issues of diversity, and economic justice.

First Parish's Social Justice Committee is the central resource and conduit for social justice work expressing the values, concerns, and interests of the congregation. Various working groups are supported and funded by the committee.

If you want to schedule a social justice-related event, please complete an event application form. When possible, allow a couple of months for an event to be scheduled in order to get the greatest possible participation.

If you are part of a group of people that wants to create a project or working group, download and fill out an Application for Social Justice Projects and Working Groups. Return the form one week before the Social Justice Committee's monthly meeting to get on the agenda. The meeting is usually the second Wednesday of the month.

If you have questions please contact social justice by e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

And always we welcome your support at the Pie Palace at the annual Arlington Town Day which raises money to fund events and working groups.
