Traces of the Trade: A Story of the Deep North

Film Screening and Conversation

Harvard Divinity School student Katrina Browne discovers her New England ancestors, the DeWolfs, were at the epicenter of the slave trade as the most notorious slave-trading family in U.S. history. In this award-winning film, members of Katrina’s extended family join her to trace their ancestors’ involvement in the Triangle Trade, grappling with the horror behind their family’s wealth and status, and beginning to wrestle with questions about complicity and repair.

This screening is offered by RJCC’s Reckoning & Repair working group, as we try to come to terms with our discovery of our own congregation’s history with slavery.

Monday, March 20 7pm–9pm on Zoom https://tinyurl.com/TracesofthetradeFPUU

Sunday, March 26 11:30am–1:30pm in person in the Bailey Room with light lunch
