Join an informal mental health group at First Parish in coordination with the STAR committee and Social Justice committee to discuss the book “When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times” by Pema Chodron on Thursday, June 9, 7pm, via Zoom. This book is a much needed salve during these uncertain times. The compassionate advice in this book goes against the grain of our usual habits when hard times hit. Her Buddhist approach involves moving toward painful situations with friendliness and curiosity. The book includes among other things ways to use painful emotions to cultivate wisdom, compassion and courage. Join us for a lively discussion of this book and sharing how it has (or not) benefited you. It is a short read.. 146 pages. Please register via STAR here.
