RE News

Hello Friends,

I hope you have found a way to stay snug and warm this week.

Reverend Erica and I had a blast talking with children last week about what brings them comfort and how they can be brave in these uncertain times. I hope you, too, are managing the stress and anxiety that feels omnipresent right now. We are here for you with a listening ear if you need us!

We will meet again this Sunday, January 16, via Zoom at 9:00 a.m. Jennifer Davis Kay will lead an informative and fun lesson about civil rights and some very amazing people who led the fight to make sure that *all* people enjoy the same rights.  Everyone is very welcome. An email with the link will be sent to families in our database later this week.

There are no evening programs on Sunday, January 16, in honor of the holiday weekend.

Reverend Erica and I are brainstorming ideas of what to do with the children when we meet outside on January 23. We’ve learned that many families prefer to be with their First Parish friends to enjoy the fresh air and to move around, so we’re keeping that in mind. We might look for animal tracks, or make snow creations, or hug trees. A lot will depend on the weather. But we will create an opportunity for us to be together and to have fun. Stay in touch to learn more!

Keep an eye on the emails sent to families, the e-bulletin and the First Parish website as we continue to be flexible and come up with ways to stay connected.

A reminder to keep your minds open for new ideas this week, your hearts open to love others (especially those for whom this may not be easy), and to reach out with your hands to help those in your home or your neighbors. Spread the love this week as best you can!
