Rejecting Anti-Jewish Hate

There has been a disturbing rise in antisemitic incidents in Massachusetts, across the country, and in other countries. History has shown us the horribly high cost of allowing such behavior to become normalized. Our own Unitarian Universalist faith compels us to acknowledge, call out, and disavow the growing extremism and hate. With our new public witness banner, we urge all in the Arlington community to “Stand in solidarity” and “Reject anti-Jewish hate”. Only a very small fraction of people in this region and in the US are Jewish, so it is essential that many others act as allies and partners, taking a visible stance against antisemitism and bigotry in all forms.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has published Antisemitism Uncovered: A Guide to Old Myths in a New Era to offer context and debunk the myths at the core of antisemitism. This guide can educate people from all walks of life about what is and is not antisemitism, enabling all of us to stop its spread and call it out whenever and wherever it may arise.
