Standing against anti-Asian violence

The many acts of violence and bigotry targeting Asians in the US in recent months, including the murders of six Asian women and two others in Atlanta on March 16, have prompted us to post a new public witness banner on our meetinghouse lawn. The message conveyed by the banner, “We stand against anti-Asian violence and bigotry” is a statement of solidarity of our entire congregation with people of Asian descent among our members and friends and in the wider community in which we live.

While the threat against Asians has been especially acute recently, anti-Asian racist policies, actions, and ideas have a long history in the US, and our challenge is to work continuously toward a society free of racism.
