About First Parish

Welcome to First Parish!

First Parish currently offers in-person and online worship through Zoom.

We warmly invite visitors to First Parish! Please look at the Welcome sign at coffee hour or fill out a First Parish Connection Card, so that we can send you weekly announcements about First Parish activities.

We look forward to getting to know you! Click this link for information about Your First Visit to First Parish.

Services

Services are held every Sunday, starting at 10:00 am and running until 11:30 am. Following the service there is an informal “Coffee and Friendship Hour,” which is an excellent time to meet and chat with other members of the congregation. Find out more about our Worship Services.

First Parish Church is a proud member of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s (UUA) “Welcoming Congregation” program.  We value all people and are committed to providing a warm and open environment to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. For further information on this program please visit the UUA’s Welcoming Congregation page

Religious Education

First Parish has a vibrant Religious Education (RE) program for children and youth. RE Director Tina Schultz works with a support team of paid staff and of volunteer teachers from within the congregation. We also have Adult programs, led by both professional staff and persons within the congregation.

Please visit our Path to Membership page for more information.

Getting to Know Us

You will get a better sense of our First Parish community and its members by participating in our activities beyond attending Sunday worship.  It is a great way to meet people with similar interests.  A few possibilities are:

  • Participate in a morning session of Lectio Divina
  • Attend a choir rehearsal and sing in the choir, or explore other musical opportunities
  • Attend one of our Men’s Group meetings or a Women’s Alliance program on a Friday evening.

Church Membership

We welcome new members!! Contact the Membership Committee (membership@firstparish.info) about the process for becoming a church member. You will be asked to speak with our minister, and if you are new to Unitarian Universalism or to First Parish, we encourage you to take the “New UU” course offered twice per year.
